UPDATED: Just finished reading this and was honestly not impressed. This book is so repetitive. It almost felt like a chore reading this book. It is greatly based on author’s own opinion and suggestions, no scientific research in these pages at all… so, kinda disappointing. I also didn’t appreciate the subtle hints of “make-sure-to-get-the-next-book-“The Montessori Toddler” in several pages of this book.I would skip this book if you want to learn about starting Montessori at home with a newborn/baby. Read “Montessori from the Start: The Child at Home, from Birth to Age Three” by Lillard and Jessen instead.Original: Such a great, easy read for any busy mom. My baby is already 5 months, so I’m glad that I can just skip through the newborn topics and to her specific age group and I don’t end up feeling lost. This book is very easy to follow and has very PRACTICAL advice/tips on what to do. I’m glad there’s a book that doesn’t just talk about the Montessori principle, but also gives several ideas & examples (including dialogue) on how to implement it in my home. And the modern illustrations and graphics are also refreshing to any Montessori book!
